CEDI Offers BRIEFS for 2025 Iowa Energy Policy Priorities

The Clean Energy Districts of Iowa maintains a set of downloadable one-page briefs outlining Iowa energy policy priorities in each legislative session.

“These explainers are useful to energy district advocates, business and community leaders, and all of Iowa’s ratepayers, in addition to our elected officials,” says Andy Johnson, CEDI executive director. “Our goal is to provide clear, unbiased technical insight into how Iowa’s energy systems, policies, and providers can support safe, affordable, and reliable power for all of Iowa’s energy consumers.”

Topics in Iowa’s 2025 legislative session include:

  • Integrated Resource Planning (IRP)
  • Renewable Energy Siting Reform
  • Rate-Payer Funded Energy Efficiency Program Reform
  • Additional issues such as:
    • Transmission Reform: Right of First Refusal (ROFR)
    • Virtual Net Metering/Community Solar
    • Building Energy Codes Implementation
